Small, careful apps that do one thing well, respect your privacy and feel at home on your Mac and iPhone.
Reads your documents aloud in natural voices and highlights every word as it is spoken. The Mac turns documents into audiobooks and puts them in your own iCloud, to hear on your iPhone, your iPad and in the car with CarPlay. Dialog mode gives each character a voice.
Keeps the photos, notes, links, people, places and dates you collect in private boxes on your device, ties them together the way you remember them, shows them as a story, a board, a map or a graph, and puts the ones that matter on your Home Screen, a tap from a call. No cloud of ours, no account.
This is the home of apps by Bas Meijer. Read4Me has been reading documents aloud on the Mac since 2006, was rebuilt in 2026 for Apple silicon and current macOS, and now reads on iPhone and iPad too.
Souvenance is new in 2026: a memory keeper for iPhone, iPad and Mac, built on plain files instead of a database.
